Arsenal Inch Closer to Signing RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko

Arsenal have reportedly agreed to personal terms with RB Leipzig striker, Benjamin Sesko, edging closer to a major summer signing.
The 22-year-old Slovenian forward, who netted 21 goals in 45 appearances during the 2024-25 season, has long been on Arsenal’s radar. Recent reports claim that the Gunners are now poised to meet Leipzig’s valuation, which ranges between €80–€100 million.
Despite signing a five-year deal with the German side last year, Sesko is said to be attracted by the chance to play in the UEFA Champions League, in which Arsenal secured a spot after a strong English Premier League campaign.
The Red Bulls, who finished seventh in the Bundesliga, have already begun preparing for Sesko’s departure by approaching Brazilian striker, Romulo Cardoso.
Previously, Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres was on the Gunners’ shopping list. However, the Portuguese club’s higher-than-expected demands resulted in the focus shifting to Sesko. The latter’s agent has apparently been in London, England, and a formal bid is expected soon, with a deal potentially wrapped up before the end of the month.
Sesko rose to prominence at Red Bull Salzburg – scoring 21 goals across 55 appearances – and his prolific form in Germany has sparked interest from Chelsea and Manchester United, although Arsenal now have a significant and firm lead in the race.
